Seeing same post again and again on Meta Threads? You’re not alone, it’s a glitch

Threads users saw the same post duplicated across multiple accounts due to a bug.

Meta has confirmed the issue and is rolling out a fix.

The glitch follows recent backlash over Meta AI’s unclear privacy-sharing features.

If you use Instagram Threads and notice repeated posts in your news feed, you are not alone. A strange bug in Meta’s microblogging platform has turned users’ news feeds into echo chambers, with multiple posts displaying the same content word for word. The glitch affects both the desktop and mobile versions of the application, making it appear as if every user was posting the same thoughts, causing confusion and jokes on social media.

This unfolded when social media accessibility expert Alexa Heinrich shared a screenshot that went viral, showing multiple Threads accounts posting the same message: “Siri, unsubscribe me from 2025.” Users experienced an odd sensation as a result of the repetition, as feeds seemed to be overflowing with duplicate posts.

Jane Manchun Wong, an app researcher, noticed the issue right away and informed the public. In response, Meta Communications’ director, Andy Stone, acknowledged the error and said: “Whoops, that clearly shouldn’t have happened! We’re working on fixing it right now.

While the situation is serious, some users have found it amusing rather than harmful. However, the social media giant has yet to confirm the exact cause of this problem. Fortunately, the company has confirmed that the bug fix is being deployed. This means that the issue will be resolved with the upcoming update.

The problem stems from a recent Meta AI controversy. The chatbot has been facing backlash after the users unknowingly shared private conversations and images on the public Discover feed. However, Meta insisted sharing is manual, the vague interface and unclear warning have led to sensitive content becoming public, raising privacy and app transparency concerns.
